방아쇠 수지, Trigger Thumb

엄지손가락을 굽히는 기능을 하는 엄지손가락 근육에 붙은 인대에 염증이 생겨 그 인대가 비정상적으로 짧아지고 수축되어 엄지손가락이 굽혀져 있는 상태의 병이다.

방아쇠 수지의 원인

선천성이나 후천성으로 생긴다.
선천성 방아쇠 수지는 양쪽 엄지손가락에 생기는 확률이 50%이다.
30%가 한 살 전에 자연 치유되고 후천성 방아쇠수지는 생후 6~30 개월에 생기고 그 중 10%는 자연 치유가 된다.

방아쇠 수지의 치료

방아쇠 수지를 곧게 펴주는 마사지 치료를 한다.
필요에 따라 스플린트로 치료할 수 있고,
수술로 치료할 수 있다.

Trigger Thumb

• It is a disease in which the ligament attached to the thumb muscle, which functions to bend the thumb, becomes inflamed and the ligament is abnormally shortened and contracted, causing the thumb to bend.

Causes of trigger finger

• It is congenital or acquired.

• A congenital trigger finger has a 50% chance of developing on both thumbs.

• 30% spontaneously heal before 1 year of age, and acquired trigger finger occurs between 6 and 30 months of age, of which 10% spontaneously heal.

Treatment of trigger finger

• Massage therapy to straighten the trigger finger.

• Can be treated with splints as needed; • Can be treated with surgery.
